I'd upgrade to RC1.
There are a few issues but nothing serious. Also provide information about where your movies are stored USB, NAS, SMB etc. How soon after booting does this happen? Beta 2 and RC1 do a lot of processing once started but settle down after a couple of minutes. Provide xbmc.log and dmesg output.
