I can't replicate this problem. 1) What release are you on? 2) Where is your media stored? USB drive, Flash Drive? 3) Can you check that the folder /home/xbian/.xbmc is not read only 4) How are you adding the source? Video -> Files -> Add video --> etc 5) Can you post the output of xbmc.log via pastebin.
