The symptoms seem similar to playing HEVC content (Although not the reboot).
Try running "top" from ssh whilst watching something, and see what the CPU and Memory usage is. Or install "nmon" an easier to follow performance monitor. Please read before you post How to post a log file If you liked my help, click on "Thanks" to show your appreciation.
