I am not ruling that out - but I can't establish what might be the problem.

I suspected the server, but no issues at all with that on the laptop and not on the pi if file is also played on laptop. So then I suspected the pi.

If issue was the pi then it wouldn't play well when using either a different server or when the files are also played on the laptop.

Since there is no occasion where a failure exists across all testing methods, it is difficult to determine where the problem lies. Hardware, setup/config, maybe a bit of each?

Another sleepless night it seems....
