can you post more details about the file?would be helpful if you can provide more details like codec, audio/video information, etc
Also can you try this ?
Do the following from SSH

nano /boot/config.txt

and change the following

gpu mem 256=100

to

gpu mem 256=128

or if you have Raspberry Pi V2 with 512mb RAM

gpu mem 512=100

to
