Terminal

sudo rm -f /tmp/rtorrent.sock

and start rtorrent again

i acutally use

dtach -A /tmp/rtorrent.dtach rtorrent

and just refresh the web UI until the timeouts go away (im running 2000+ seeding torrents on a banana pi (its like a raspberry pi with a native sata port))
no need to restart rtorrent or make a batch file. it just works
