I installed the repo but neither the zip from the repo or the one that you posted actually work. They have the wrong structure in the zip file.

Well I tried the latest version on an SD card. No luck. It works, so long as I don't go into settings.

It actually does it with both.

I think that this might be the case that the wifi card is not working right here. I've tried my luck with two different 802.11N 300MBPS cards but have the same result.

I was writing about this power cables months and months ago Smile

And thats why we and everybody alway recommend start troubleshooting from RPi power source and always make sure that anything plugged into the USB ports has own power source or go through powered USB Hub Wink no matter what and how small the device is.

So as your issue is resolved I would like to as you to edid your 1st post and change the thread prefix to Solved, you find this option on top left when you go full edit the post Wink
-thx-

Will do.

The strange thing here is, I had the power hooked to this breakout device I slapped together that tests voltage/amperage and it never, ever dipped below 5v. That's why I dismissed this first, since it was the first thing that I tried. Oh well.

yeah, strange things happen sometimes with RPi..
Like I have 2.5A PSU without cable(its just a plug with 2xUSB ports) but when I use it with USB cable from Kindle I constantly loosing LAN connection (due to power issue) where with other cable like from HTC phone all is fine. It took me back than about 2 weeks to figured this out Big Grin

RE: [SOLVED] XBMC freezes constantly
I'm also having constant freezing problems, does the wire itself make a difference or just the charge cube the USB plugs into?

I used an HP Touchpad charger and it worked fine. The cable I'm using is a cheap knockoff cable and it's ok. My tv pushes the same voltage and haven't had any trouble.
