[PROBLEM] 3D-Content not proper displayed

Hi there,

i hope i'm right here to ask my question. I use xbian (latest version, autoupdate on) on my raspi (rev. B). Everything works fine for me except the playback of 3D films. I have a LG TV with polarization and the source is a film that is horizontally divided so i have to let the TV do the conversion from 2D to 3D.
The problem is, that when i turn on 3D and look at the movie (with the polirization glasses) the movie is out of focus and ther is no 3D effect.
With my old WD TV that was no problem, so it is not the movie that makes a problem. For me, the only difference between the WD TV and XBMC/Xbian is, that i had to adjust je screen edges to fit the TV's resolution (although i defined 1080p in the setup).

Does anyone had the same problem and/or a solution for that? Is there a way to delimit the problem for finally find a solution?

I don't have 3D TV so can't really comment.

However, by the sounds of it, it seems to be a configuration issue with your TV rather that Xbian. If you can provide a sample of the movie then someone else might be able to recreate the problem.

I would suggest looking at the XBMC forums for answers as well as experimenting with settings.

I've used Xbian with red/blue glasses and it works (if that is what you like) but not side by side.

@Flame, Alex,

polarization tech with SBS is sensitive to displayed data exactly as needed. that;s why you can't zoom in-out picture if 3d content is played. simply you would make 3d not work.

considering this, isn't something like overscan hidding some parts of picture ??? ok, I'm stupid, you are writing this - adjust screen edges. that means overscan problem. i'm not specialist there but maybe this screen adjust is not effective when xbmc playing 3d content or your adjust is not pixel exact.

so reject calibration, or force turn off overscan in xbina-config video settings. reboot will be needed.

My setup
Computer- pre-unibody mac 2.5ghx dualcore, 8600gt 512MB, 750gb fusion drive. TVmobili is used for streaming media from my mac to any upnp enabled device on the wetwork.
TV- LG 42inch lm6700 (smart and 3d)
Games console- Slim PS3 with 750gb drive
Modem/router- Draytek 2800 ADSL2+ modem (does dhcp for the network). single band apple airport extreme 802n.
Drives- seagate 4tb HFS formatted usb external drive. HP usb stick 32gb currently formatted in exfat
Raspberry: B version, 512b version.
software- Xbian ver1 beta2 using mac installer,
SD Card: 1) sandisk ultra 16gb, class 10-1 30MBps. 2) Kingmax 68gb, class 6. 3) team 8gb, class 10, 20MBps.
Phone- Galaxy S4 with media house pro used a a remote for upnp.
also wireless mini keyboard and trackpad.


to test:
i have a 3d mkv file on the hfs formatted hard drive connected to the usb port of the pi. I used media house (upn) on my andriod phone to find this file and play it to itself. it streamed no issue to my TV. i used the glasses and there was no blurriness.

i never knew i could stream/play 3d media with this, thanks

Hi,

i disabled overscan and the result is a little bit better but still far away to be named as 3D. Is there a way to reset the manual screen adjustment to default values?
