Kernel 3.18.6+ Test (Pi 1 only)
I am attaching a newer kernel for testing (Raspberry Pi 1), I want to see it is trouble free before creating the necessary git pull to have it implemented.

Please report any issues here, this is not official but I have tested it myself and there seems to be a nice improvement in boot speed and system responsiveness.

After downloading install with this command:

Terminal

sudo dpkg --install xbian-package-kernel_3.18.6+.deb

@f1vefour Thanks for that: I think it would be a good idea to include some backout instructions (if possible) just in case things don't go as planned.

Code:
sudo apt-get install xbian-package-kernel=3.17.7-ck2+-1421550584

That will install the current default kernel if you have an issue.

Just make a full backup first. The easiest.

If the kernel fails to boot there is no rollback Smile

Can we get 3.18.y for the Raspberry Pi 1 online? The latest 3.17.y is also buggy so we can better replace it instead of fixing it.

I did the pull request for 3.18.y on the Pi 2? I guess you mean the Pi 1 and it is a bad idea without any feedback to change out the kernel.

Not even any feedback from xbian crew!
