ODROID-C1
Hi all,
Have you heard about new powerful device released by HardKernel, the Odroid-C1: http://www.hardkernel.com/main/products/prdt_info.php?g_code=G141578608433 specs: * Amlogic ARM Cortex-A5(ARMv7) 1.5Ghz quad core CPUs * Mali-450 MP2 GPU (OpenGL ES 2.0/1.1 enabled for Linux and Android) * 1Gbyte DDR3 SDRAM * Gigabit Ethernet * 40pin GPIOs * eMMC4.5 HS200 Flash Storage slot / UHS-1 SDR50 MicroSD Card slot * USB 2.0 Host x 4, USB OTG x 1, * Infrared(IR) Receiver Hardware specs really interesting and should be also able to decode H265 video format. I'm thinking to buy one, would you think XBIAN should be installed (even not in easy way)? Cheers, |

RE: ODROID-C1
Depends on two things:
1. Does it have GPU acceleration? The Mali chip is not considered very open. 2. Do the developers take kernel development seriously? This means, do they target at getting fully supported stable kernel out (no matter how low it's version is), of do they focus on getting the highest kernel version available no matter how stable. pilight - modular domotica solution

RE: ODROID-C1
I would love to buy one of those, too, but only
with a working XBian. I have like 20 movies with HEVC/.265, which can not be played on our beloved Pi (at the moment or ever). Mali and its non-openness just suck ... :\ |

RE: ODROID-C1
Mali is not really open at all, it does have 3D acceleration by means of sunxi reverse engineering (for the 400). Last I checked there was no 2D acceleration and hardware decoding was not functional on Linux, only Android.
Hardkernel is pretty serious about a stable kernel. Please read rules and do a search before you post! | FAQs | How to post log file? | Can't find an answer? Contact us. |

RE: ODROID-C1
I went ahead and ordered an odroid c1, will see if I can get Xbian going on it when it comes in.
This is what caused me to get one: ODROID-C1 H265 1080p @ 60FPS on Ubuntu using Kodi: http://youtu.be/wMLlW_ohx4U Please read rules and do a search before you post! | FAQs | How to post log file? | Can't find an answer? Contact us. |

RE: ODROID-C1
@syco, the first step to get XBian running would be to create a new build configuration here:
https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian/tree/master/xbian-build-img/build And create a new kernel configuration with BTRFS patches pilight - modular domotica solution

RE: ODROID-C1
Up to now I have no Odroid-C1, because I thought,
there will never ever be supported drivers for the Mali hardware. As soon as someone has a working or for testing ready Xbian version, I will gladly buy one and help out with any beta testing following your guidelines. |

RE: ODROID-C1
Thanks CurlyMo, I will start working on it when I get a UHS capable sd card.
