Red colored square when booting...

I read that the red colored square means RPi is overheating. My RPi is not in a case, nor does it appear hot at all. I tried installing the latest stable release as well as 2015.03.07, both with the same results.

As a test, I installed NOOBS and it booted and configured just fine.

Using RPi 2 B © 2011.12

Any input would be appreciated.

You need a better power supply.

Try and get a good quality 5V 2A one.
