Video Overscan Settings Lost
I know this has appeared in other posts before, but my video settings have been working fine for months. No hardware changes. Following one of the updates (the day before yesterday), I have to reset video overscan after every boot.
Log seems to be swapping back the display (?): Found (1920x1080@60.000000) at 22, swapping with 16 What has changed in the software to cause this? UPDATE - I restored back to XBian_2015.04.04_rpi2 and everything worked ok. Then applied the updates listed (loads of them) and the problem is back. kodi.log - working Code: 11:28:10 T:1961103360 NOTICE: special://profile/ is mapped to: special://masterprofile/ kodi.log - after update (broken) Code: 11:55:01 T:1960853504 NOTICE: special://profile/ is mapped to: special://masterprofile/ |

RE: Video Overscan Settings Lost
Ok, Here goes:
1. Revert SD back to XBian_2015.04.04_rpi2 2. Install required add-ons and update film/tv library 3. Backup SD card using Win32DiskManager (only way to backup that works!) 4. Re-install updates one-by-one:
b. Reboot & Test c. Backup SD card using Win32DiskManager d. Repeat 5. Got down to the last one xbian-package-cec…will do this one later today 6. Finally bit the bullet and installed the cec update...fearing the worst, but it went in ok and has not lost the video settings. Recap - all updates at once (originally in date order) caused loss of calibration. Selected order of upgrades (not quite random - lib updates first then packages, then xbmc last) - no problem... ...so not solved as such, but seems to be stable :-) |

Thanks for the excellent troubleshooting. Odd behavior certainly.

RE: Video Overscan Settings Lost
For what it's worth (I forgot to mention), during start-up, the main kodi\confluence opens in the correct mode (i.e. as per the overscan settings), but then 'jumps' to the incorrect settings - during this stage, an information message box pops up on the bottom RHS of the screen....not entirely sure what it says as the screen re-sizes and the message drops off the bottom of the screen, but, it has the information icon (rather than an exclamation icon) and says something like Video mode not supported - however, I can find no trace of this in the kodi.log - are these on-screen messages recorded/logged anywhere? e.g. does debugging need to be switched on?

RE: Video Overscan Settings Lost
I too suffer from this issue, haven't pinpointed the cause.

RE: Video Overscan Settings Lost
CEC software/service(?) appears to be the cause... Disabling it as resolved the situation for me.

RE: Video Overscan Settings Lost
Sorry for the delayed response, only just seen this message. I have applied the changes to disable the CEC service and will let you know.....
...or to put another way, the main problem 'corrected' itself, but I have had subsequent streams that have changed the display part way whilst playing...a tad annoying, so hopefully this will stop....but with the demise of the iPlayer add on, I may not be using it much! https://squarepenguin.co.uk/forums/topic/the-bbc-has-blown-up-tv-listing-feeds-here-is-the-workaround/ |
