How to setup readable russian language for ssh?

dpkg-reconfigure locales add ru_RU.utf8 default
edit /etc/profile set

Seems all ok except xbian-config

Did you also do this step as stated in the xbian-config manual:

Remember that changing the locale will break the xbian-config package manager in Alpha 5. This shall be fixed in Beta 1.
