Edges cut off on xbian overlay
Hey,
I'm pretty new to my Pi and still learning a whole bunch but I'm a bit confused on Overscan, what to set it to, etc which I think is effecting my problem. On the XBMC interface, the icons and texts that are in the corners of the App are cut off very slightly. My setup is RaspPi -> Yamaha RXZ-7 Receiver -> Panasonic 1080p plasma. The video looks "ok" but I have not verified if the edges are cut off there. It's just noticeable in menu. Only thing I have set right now is disable_overscan=1 Any help would be appreciated. Just really not sure of all the settings that I need to use. Cheers |

Re: Edges cut off on xbian overlay
Go to Settings > System > Video output > Video calibration and move the top left and bottom right corners to fit your display.

RE: Edges cut off on xbian overlay
Yea I was screwing around with that, then started changing some settings. Set my XBMC setting to be 1080p and the screen went super zoomed in, rebooted the machine, changed it to 1080p again (from 720p) and now it fits perfect. No idea what I did or what changed. Not sure if it will stick but at least I now know about the Video calibration

RE: Edges cut off on xbian overlay
i don't know about panasonic, but samsung plasmas have "just scan" format of screen (input video) and it autoformats automaticaly. I suppose pana will have something similar ... beside the classic 4:3, 16:9 etc.

Re: Edges cut off on xbian overlay
just turn OFF automatic aspect ratio in TV settings and force 16:9 instead do the trick in 99% of situations

RE: Edges cut off on xbian overlay
I was trying to find some stuff in my TV settings, was unable to find a few things. Probably have to break out the manual. I did find a few things interesting though when I was checking supported modes etc.
Code: Group CEA has 15 modes: First, should there be two Native? Code: Parsing edid.dat... It has it's preferred mode as CEA 2 which is not what I want. Is there something weird going on with the Receiver setup? Or should it take what the TV is preferred? |

Ah ok. I will check when I get home. Glad someone else has a similar TV .
I generally never use that remote, only my receiver one. |
