Voice Command.
Hi,

As a noob at linux I don't know if this would be possible, but I stumbled upon this site here.....

http://stevenhickson.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/voice-command-v30-for-raspberry-pi.html

Now I wonder if this could be used alongside xbian?

I note there is a chance that he will look into an XBMC plugin, but that's in the future if it happens at all.

So clever people, is this a complete turkey for xbian, or could it be possible?

Would be kinda neat to finally have a 'Star Trek' voice command for the pi media player! Smile

RE: Voice Command.
I would say no as this would required MIC input so means you would need Alsa first to make it working.
However I always saying everything is possible, I just dont see much bright light at the end of this tunel

HI Rikardo,

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you mean.

But then I had two thoughts......

1. What if you had 2 pi's? One running voice control and sending commands to the xbian one?
2. What if you could get an audio input on the SPI/I2C ports of the pi? Would that work?

Skywatch (ever hopeful)! Wink

If you want voice commands you could use Yatse if you have android device (phone, tablet, etc).

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.leetzone.android.yatsewidgetfree

I'm not sure, if you need the unlocked version or not for this feature.

RE: Voice Command.
just build a plugin for Siri. Siri works quite amazing and can control whatever whoever provides the other side (software functions).
