there is no special XBMC version shipped with RC1 as with B2. And I don't have Frodo anymore to test, but the screensaver (after dependency fix) works with no issues under Gotham (RPI / MacOS). Can you provide "cut" from debug log at the time you hit preview until XBMC crashes?

also what version you have ? at last I posted few crash related fixes (on start, exit, etc).
on XBian Addon XBMC repo should be actual version.

No need mate... just updated my 2nd pi to RC1 and the problem does not exists in this one, so its a problem with my other Pi setup... Going to do a reinstall.

Anyway if you need the log i can post it if you can tell me where its is Tongue... The XBMC on that pi crashes/hang immediately as soon the screensaver starts.

well it might have been because i've tinkered with permissions Tongue...

To break a system i think there are a lot of ways lol ... its easier to break than is to fix :/
@Exnor

yes, I know there are. Unfortunately permission games are not new. try harder.

You mean try harder to find the problem or to paste the Log file Tongue (i know i'm lazy)...
@Exnor

try harder with innovative approach to break system.

haha

ah... Well i could delete some critical files, or hex edit some adding just 1 bit randomly on them Tongue

Ok on topic now: I did not re-install my 2nd Pi and tried the screensaver again and this time it worked... i have no idea why because i didn't do nothing to the system. Only thing i did was update the system, but that i do every week... so i suppose some update fixed my problem (?).
Saw the Log file and there were no errors there (i think that normal right?).

Now everything is ok on both RC1 Pi's Smile

Its me again lool.

Ok got my 2 pi's running the latest RC 2 (XBMC 13.0 beta) and the screensaver works perfectly BUT, and this is the part i dont know who to fix, everytime i reboot a Pi, XBMC gives me the message "clockscreensaver..etc.. t have unmet dependencies, do you wish to disable it?" and i select NO and the screensaver still works fine...

1st time i got the msg (after the upgrade) i selected yes, then i re-enable it and test if it worked so i left it on, but now i get the message every single time i reboot the Pi or restart XBMC.

Any ideas how i can disable this? or circumvent the msg at least for this screensaver.

thks guys Smile
there is addon.xml and python requirement defined as 2.0.0. change it to 2.1.0

(that was general fix while going for Gotham. If that do not help, report back.

Well (updated) it took some more time to appear the warning info but the situation maintains to persist :/
then remove the addon and from XBian XBMC repo install it again but choose the Gotham version (although the only change I did there was the addon.xml python version change).

but try it.

i'm having trouble in finding the repo in the repo list on the XBMC... anyway to add it manually?
thks.

Ok so i've installed the version on the repo (it is 0.5.0 for gotham right? at least is the only one that says is compatible) and it gives me an error when it starts... saying something about Phyton version 2.1.0 not having some functions ??? (i cant post the log because i'm having file system problems on that Pi... will post a log ASAP). Any ideias?

I have the most recent updates on this Pi.
