Full Version: Unable to compile driver for LinkSys AE3000

Hey guys,

I am a fresh xbian installer and wanted to get my LinkSys AE3000 working.
After finding the appropriate driver on http://geekniggle.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/cisco-linksys-ae3000-wifi-usb-dongle.html I downloaded it, installed g++, build-essential and the xbian headers...

unfortunately, as this is my common doing, I did an apt-get upgrade after install to get the newest patches - and the 3.10.18 kernel.
The package "xbian-package-kernel-headers" installs the 3.10.12 headers, so unfortunately I cannot compile the driver - the appropriate headers are missing in /lib/modules/3.10.18.

I hope this will need just a small fix. Smile

Cheers,
Space
As you didn't bother to read "Please read before you post" and provide the requested details it's difficult to be certain on a number of things.
1) What release of Xbian?
2) Have you actually tried it? What error messages did you get. What was the output of dmesg?
3) Is this a new USB Wifi?
4) Have you checked to see what other USB wifi use the same chip? dmesg might give a clue.
