i had the same issue so i reinstalled the latest image and did not upgrade it
this works but cec still has allot of issues
- can't control volume of receiver
- cec disconnecting allot
- sometimes screen goes black when playing a video and need to restart receiver to show image/sound again (this does not happen with rpi/xbian)
it seems to me that xbian is still not ready for normal use
i always expect some minor bugs but these are pretty big
Hello

I used Xbian installer which formats the microsd before writing the image.

ahh too bad! I was away for a while, busy with personal life (good stuff) and work. The gf and I used Openelec for watching tvshows etc. But now I am really in need of XBian on my CuboxTV since I need my personal cloud setup again (its gonna be Owncloud + Syncthing this time).
I'm a bit disappointed in buying a CuboxTV since there is no good, stable OS with Kodi to install that allows to install other apps like Owncloud, Syncthing, Flexget. OpenElec is the only rockstable Kodi OS for Cubox atm.
What can we non-developers do to get a stable working XBian release for I.MX6? I already donated.
Hi all,
I really like xbian on my cubox, except of the stability problems.
There is another distribution for cubox will be realeased soon, called OSMC, which looks also promising, but I hope for xbian the stability problems will be solved.
I'am with you @
zilexa and would like to support the xbian imx6 team too, to make the xbian for cubox stable. Where is the donate "button" and how can I help the xbian imx6 guys?
OK, donate is done.
@
didlich, Did you post your issues on github already?
@
CurlyMo, not yet
until now I posted the issues in this forum, I guess the github repository is:
https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian
I would like to test the latest version. In the case the latest version has unacceptable bugs, I would like to rollback without loosing my settings. Which work-flow would you recommend (SD-Card backup etc.)?

How Odd. I tried again using the latest Xbian 2015.04.25.imx6 release on a *New* 4G class 4 SD card and it worked. I then tried it on the a 4G class 10 as before and it failed. I've tested the class 10 with F3 and Badblocks with no errors reported. So at a loss what the issue is. Class 10 works Ok on RPi 2
However, with the working system, I upgraded without issues!!!
Now with a fully upgraded system, I can see what is amiss.
1) Xbian-upstart-bridge fails with a script error.

Exnor not too sure of the difference in price, but I always go for the best, if I can afford it.
However, using an I4Pro for just Xbian, I never need anywhere near the 2G Ram, nor the 4 CPU's, so I reckon the cheapest will do as a basic box. I've never seen a need for the extra 1G Ram (Normal usage is around 400M).
The only thing I wish it had was Wireless 5Ghz - not sure if the newer model has this support built in yet. Also, it won't play H265 without a bit of stutter and all 4 cores at max.
Mind you the TV model doesn't have wifi nor bluetooth.
I'd also check if any models have USB3, if not look at a model with eSata if you need that extra speed.
The biggest bottleneck is the I/O on the SD card, not the Cubox.
