The boot problem is since the new package (xbian-package-firmware_2.0.0) seems to append .xbian to a number of files in /boot, including bootcode.bin. I managed to get my system booting again with the following steps: 1. put the sd card in another machine and mount the boot partition 2. rename bootcode.bin.xbian to bootcode.bin, fixup.dat.xbian to fixup.dat, and start.elf.xbian to start.elf 3. unmount the sd card and put it back into your RPi Since the partition is FAT, I guess you can do this on either Windows or Linux (I used the latter). Edit: I checked the package source and I believe that the .xbian files are meant as temporary backups while the new files are written. Since the installation fails in the middle, the new files are never written. Unfortunately, the backup files are not rolled back either, thus leaving the system in this unbootable state. RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - f1vefour - 6th Feb, 2015 01:34 PM This needs to be addresed ASAP @CurlyMo RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - CurlyMo - 6th Feb, 2015 07:12 PM Is already fixed, latest firmware works. RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - Fabio72 - 10th Feb, 2015 06:54 PM After the kodi update I still have the following errors in log: Code: ERROR: Open - failed to open source <http://xbian.brantje.com/xbian-xbmc-repository/addons.xml> I found issue 650 on github but no solution yet. Can I manually fix/change source? Which is the new repo address? RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - djbijo - 10th Feb, 2015 11:12 PM last update broke xbmc if PULSAR is installed. i updated all packages (there was a bunch). xbian-config wont update. but i updated the rest thru apt-get after the update the xbmc boot but stuck because of pulsar. once i removed pulsar from addons folder it worked fine. tried to install pulsar again and stuck. couldn't get a verbose log because xbmc get's stuck. did btrfs rollback for now. i'm on cubox-i4 stable. RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - f1vefour - 11th Feb, 2015 07:36 AM That has to be a pulsar issue, you will want to contact the author of the plugin for assistance. If all is well with XBian without the plugin. RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - starous - 15th Feb, 2015 04:55 AM Hi, I'm trying to upgrade xbian-package-config-xbmc from version 1.2.0-1 to 20150207-1, but I keep on getting the following error Terminal Reading package lists... Building dependency tree... Reading state information... Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: xbian-package-config-xbmc : Depends: xbian-update (>= 1.0.2-7c) but it is not going to be installed What should I do? I've even tried to download the package and install it manually, but it didn't work! So, I have a Raspi B (512mb), I use the stable repo. What else you need to know? I was having an "update" issue a few weeks back. Was directed to look at the "FAQ" at that time. I could have sworn i had done the repository update. But that was my update errors. I hope the problems are gone and your XBian is up to date and running like the BEAST it is =) RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - IriDium - 21st Feb, 2015 02:21 AM I've just upgraded the latest image without any issues. So hopefully, a lot of issues should now be fixed,. |
