RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
I tried from RC2 -> RC3 but still hit the 'serious error' message documented in the RC2 thread, so I guess that this is not fixed in Raspbian yet.

Yes, when it is, we will release stable 1. It's the only thing holding us back.

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
The upgrade via apt-get broke my install. After a reboot only one dot apears on the top left. Nothing happens.
Also just tried the provided image. Nothing happens when switching on. Only Power LED activated. To exclude Hardware errors I tried RC2, which boots flawless. |

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
I'm a little confused, is doing a dist-upgrade not advisable? I did a standard upgrade fine, it rebooted without issue, however now when I attempt a dist-upgrade I see...
Terminal xbian@xbian ~ $ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade [sudo] password for xbian: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Calculating upgrade... Done The following packages will be REMOVED: upstart xbian-package-config-xbmc xbian-package-lirc xbian-package-xbmc xbian-package-xbmc-gotham-nightly xbian-update The following NEW packages will be installed: libtasn1-3-dev sysvinit u-boot-tools The following packages have been kept back: libsystemd-login0 The following packages will be upgraded: xbian-package-initramfs-tools xbian-package-vnc-server WARNING: The following essential packages will be removed. This should NOT be done unless you know exactly what you are doing! xbian-update xbian-package-lirc (due to xbian-update) upstart (due to xbian-update) xbian-package-xbmc (due to xbian-update) 2 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 6 to remove and 1 not upgraded. Need to get 602 kB of archives. After this operation, 87.0 MB disk space will be freed. You are about to do something potentially harmful. To continue type in the phrase 'Yes, do as I say!' ?] I have a feeling maybe I got myself into a package depends screw up with having that Gotham test installed. :( |

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
I did a fresh install and it boots but my LAN isn't working in DHCP and also not when I set it to static. It remains down.

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
Never do a dist-upgrade!
Best to upgrade from 'sudo xbian-config' and following the menu. Skywatch. |

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
I apt-upgraded fine to RC3. However the menus appear to be very buggy. I try to click on a menu option and the main bar fades away and nothing happens for a bit then text from the filter side menu pops up and flickers.
Everything on the back end is working fine, I can ssh and communicate no problem. Forgot to add. Movie playback only gives a black screen with audio. Also, sometimes menu text becomes just blocks. |

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
Hi there,
Yesterdayt got update through the console interface and everything seemed normal, except for the fact that xbmc restarts himself every two minutes or so without reason, I just get another packaged updated today but xbmc continues to be so annoying, do you guys know anything about that is there a solution or a patch coming up? Thank you very much and keep going! |

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3
Hi Roxxor,
solution has been provided here: http://forum.xbian.org/thread-2411.html just comment initramfs value from /boot/config.txt. Cheers, Xenon (2nd Sep, 2014 01:00 AM)Roxxor Wrote: The upgrade via apt-get broke my install. After a reboot only one dot apears on the top left. Nothing happens. |
