Of course it's not needed! Neither is a mediaplayer, a TV, a car, a house. Hell, you can even survive a couple of days/weeks without food. Doesn't change the fact that I personally do like updates, primarily cause that's how I tick, but I'm also curious for example, if the RPi can play H265 (prolly not), how the new FFMPEG codec behaves etc etc. Is that really so strange, on a user-forum for an OS of all places?!?
