i have a BR/DVD/RW usb drive, but have no content. I can put a .avi or .mkv on rw media, but I suppose this is not what you wan't to test?
with genuine DVD Video discs you will fail. as Koen wrote, problem is the licensing and encryptions. this was even problematic in the real PC world, specials players were needed (licensed with the drive, or bought extra).
