Go down to Preferences and click "advanced user" then go back to Services.
The reason for the powered hub is that when the WiFI is searching or has bad connectivity, it has to work harder and that draws more power than the RPi can give. The USB is only 100ma on the RPi whereas a powered HUB gives 500ma. Please read before you post How to post a log file If you liked my help, click on "Thanks" to show your appreciation.
