I'm not too sure what the problem is? The hanging problem is probably due to your messing about.
I'm also not too sure how you tried to disable CEC in config,txt. Please provide details of WHAT the problem is and we'll try and look into it. If it is nothing more that a little notification message - then there is nothing that can be done.
