DTS-HD MA is not supported on RPi anyway,all HD formats are down mixed to lower formats like DTS or DD.
All should be smooth as me personally playing real high bitrate files like +30gb of size files with 1080p and DTS-HD MAsound.
So can you please post your details,like your HW config (PSU,SD card,USB devices if any and how do you have them connected), your HDMI connection ( external decoder Y/N, XBMC output settings),where are your files(USB attached HDD,local server - SMB,NFS,UPNP,.. over LAN or WiFi)
