[PROBLEM] How to successfully update 1.0a3 to latest release?

[mixpc]

Since there's not a single reply here's my progress which actually ammounts to nothing... It looks as if I should have to update from 0.3 to 0.4 instead of moving to 0.5 straightforward. How? No idea. Is it so? No idea either...
