| Installer can't connect
I've grabbed the installer from the "Getting Started" page, but it can't connect to the server: "Unable to connect to the XBian server". I've checked the souce code at github and referred xml file. I'm able to ping the given server there and I was also able to manually download the Alpha3 file, rename it to img and copy it to the SD card through the advanced options. The system is Win7 64bit.

| RE: Installer can't connect
This error is thrown once it cannot find/parse the versions xml file (located here: https://raw.github.com/xbianonpi/wiki/master/mirrors.xml ). Are you sure you can access this file? For me it works (so I can't do any debugging ). If you have any C# knowledge (and Visual Studio 2012) you could do some debugging. Please read rules and do a search before you post! . FAQs . | RE: Installer can't connect
Sorry, I don't have any C# knowledge. But I've noticed one thing: I'm using Firefox and I can open the xml file without any problems or further prompts. I've also tried the IE 8 now and there I get a certification warning first, which I have to accept. After an click on "Load this website" it opens the xml file. So perhaps an certification issue? You could try to edit the link to http and I would try it again for a first verification.

| RE: Installer can't connect
Should be fixed in this version: https://github.com/xbianonpi/xbian-installer-windows/blob/master/Binary/latest.zip . Can you confirm this?

| RE: Installer can't connect
I face the same problem in two different computers in two different networks. Both of them are Win7 X64. I had managed to manually install the 1Alpha4 once with win32diskimager-binary but yet again I couldn't access the packager in xbian-config. I had to wait for updating packages for hours. After hard reset the system died. It seems that I cannot access the servers even by using Pi. After this manual installation I couldn't install it again since I couldn't boot at all even on fresh copies. Any tips? A friend of mine can access the server without any problems. He can even access the packager inside config.

The images are not available, the xml file si ok. If you try to download from: http://jb.xenserver.sk/xbian/0.8.3.tar.gz You get a 404 error message, it looks the installer isn't capable to handle http errors.

| RE: Installer can't connect
Sorry I dont understand. I'm getting the Xbian installer from here: http://xbian.org/download/ I unzip the file to a folder, I'm running Xbian installer, I am waiting for a few seconds and I get the following message: "Unable to connect to the XBian server". Is there a way for me to select the server? Seems not since this software is pretty basic to make any user mistakes. So the question again is: How to overcome this?
