[SOLVED] Youtube addon login issue fixed [Add-on 4.4.1 Update]

Hi all,

here's a quick and easy fix to get the youtube login working:

Code:

1. Connect to xbian with WinSCP and go to /home/xbian/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.youtube
2. Select all the content in the folder and delete it.
3. Download this zip file: http://hg.tobiasussing.dk/hgweb.cgi/youtubexbmc/archive/9e82be7252eb.zip
extract it and copy its content to the above folder.
You can't install the zip file normally,it gives an error.
4. Reboot
5. Configure the youtube plugin,in the usernamefield enter your gmail-adres,not your username or it won't work!
And enter your password.
6. Try to login,it may take some time the first time.
7. Enjoy!

This basicly just updates the addon to version 3.4.4 so all credits go to TheCollective for fixing the addon!

Quick warning: the addon is a little unstable and sometimes crashes xbmc.
So has any one duplicated my results?

this is now fixed in new addon release 4.4.1 so fix is not needed anymore

I have been having this too.

Not encountered any other addons(such as twitchTV and 1channel) giving the same crashes.

Running a fresh install of xbian 1.04 and the latest Youtube addon version.

do you have the latest Youtube 4.4.1 add on installed ?
also keep in mind that in this new add on you don't use the user name to log in anymore but you use your email address what you have registered with as user name

This thread has become obsolete.
The crashing occured with version 3.4.4 ,the new version however is pretty stable so far.
