RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
@gizag
have you devel enabled as well? there is nothing at staging currently. @all anyone has actual feedback to devel status? actual means max 24h old system. I will start consolidation & cleanup of packages together with common RPI Cubox support and target V1 release. Cubox support was requiring some changes to system / etc organisation and was responsible for almost all recent adhoc bugs / issues. but the restruct is at end so it's time to fix them again. currently my RPIs & Cubox-i has corrected all those reported & related issues and fixes are at devel already. Of course my devices running fine is not guarantee all is fine, but only a message that currently I consider all as ok - what might be not true of course. btw: for DEVEL repo reports, please use github issues report as the lately big forum traffic is more than I can handle in realtime. github issues are checked daily so ugly bugs can be solved almost in realtime (devel talking). Colleagues,
so what's the status with staging? is there anything still open? we slowly close them all, update version to F1.0 and move to Stable. Please read rules and do a search before you post! . FAQs . How to post log file? . Looking for answers? Please start here |

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
i just switched my staging build to primary media player today (first time connected to TV) and xbian-config will not load from within xbmc, stops at 25% and then drops back to menu

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
yes, i don't know yet how to resolve that,
we will change this in few times for now you can try to do on ssh sudo xbian-config updates updatedb or sudo xbian-config packages updatedb or both to be sure. Please read rules and do a search before you post! . FAQs . How to post log file? . Looking for answers? Please start here |

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
actually i'm not sure about that yet, as i just realized there are new updates to all the xbian packages. am upgrading now and will test again and confirm.
**UPDATE** it is working after upgrading to the current staging, please disregard the above post! (now if i could only get my mceusb remote working, but i'm pretty sure that's me and not xbian!) ***please click 'thanks' if I helped!*** |

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
this and other old and known bugs are reason why I want move all the updates finally to stable. as some are weeks old and even weeks ago fixed but still not delivered to users
and for some of them we get new and new reports over and over again with each new user as they don't have the forum history so they don't know. @all in general once again. please check your notes, git reported issues, double check your brain memory ... and if we don't come up with something, let's say on monday I move all .debs to stable (only from staging). RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
1. I currently have to restart lirc to get my lirc_rpi config running. All config files are on a network share.
2. Also, after a reboot, XBMC didn't autostart. 3. Somehow, my XBMC video calibration is always reset. pilight - modular domotica solution

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
i can't say if this is due to staging or not, but although my remote works perfectly with irw, xbmc does not recognize any button presses at all. using my stable xbian i also have some odd behaviour, the remote works perfectly most of the time, sometimes doesn't work at all, and sometimes works halfway (with several buttons not recognized). again, this is most likely due to my lirc configuration and not an issue with staging, but thought i would put it out there in case.

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
ok, now i am pretty sure it is xbian and not me... i have confirmed the exact same setup on both rc1 and staging, and lirc is not responding to my remote in staging. any suggestions on how to troubleshoot? when i changed all my configs to match those in rc1 irw now does not receive anything. very strange
<edit>ok, started over with a fresh beta2, upgraded to rc1. didn't touch anything, remote works fully OOB with no configuration, irw sees it and all buttons work. upgraded to staging, no response from irw, some buttons work. rolled back to rc1 (btrfs-auto-snapshot rollback), still no response from irw. i'm going to do it again to reconfirm, but any suggestions on what to look for will be appreciated.</edit> ***please click 'thanks' if I helped!*** |

RE: XBian DEVEL and STAGING repositories
yes. i took logs of dmesg and /var/log/lircd at every stage of the upgrade and everything looks the same, so i don't know what to look for next. i just realized i should have captured lsusb and lsmod as well, but i'll have to start over for that and it's past time for bed. very puzzling though...

Does mode2 output anything? Are you using a GPIO IR receiver?
