Groups, how to?
Hi,
I added recently Openvpn plugin.
To get it running I need to choose (within plugin options) "run with sudo"
That in turn requires me to enter password every time I change vpn server.
I would like to get rid of that requirements and I think of putting the plugin directory/files to the group that has root privileges.

How do I do that?

Thanks

EDIT: any other suggestion to solve my problem welcome Smile

Another tough, maybe I should remove and then add that plugin/repo as root?
How can I do that?
Thanks

Hi,
yes I did. That instructions got me to have that plugin running in the first place Smile
Thanks.

I think the problem is that openvpn is installed as a root (to be able to start tun devices) but the plugin itself is set up from zip (as xbian user?)
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks

Looking in the documentation for the addon - there is an option in the settings for "Password is required" which by default is set to true. Setting this to false might eliminate the password prompt. - Or not.

Yes, the option is there and the plugin does not work if it is not selected. There is two options actually, "run with sudo" and "password required".
In my case, both have to be selected, otherwise, the tun device is not opened and VPN is not initiated.
Thanks

In that case, I'd suggest posting the question on the add-on forum page (if it has one) or on the kodi forum.
