[PROBLEM] can't access a shared folder on my laptop(windows 8)

it has been a day now and i still cant figure out how to connect to a shared folder on my laptop(windows 8). whenever i try to access it, it asks me input a username and password, but when i do nothing happens.


Any help would be much appreciated.

U cant access samba share without password since Win XP.

That's where the problem is, i put in the username and password and nothing happens.

smb://username:password@IPADDRESS/share

i'm now in the shared folder, but its not letting into any of the subfolders
