I have noticed there's a sale on at hifiberry - is it supported in xbian now?

The most recent mention that I have found is on github where the mk01 says the modules have been added to a kernel package. Does this mean it's working?

I did a search on here but it didn't shed much light on the matter. Last comment was back in May (although someone claims to have a digiberry working).

Maybe one of the 'devs' will enlighten us?

3.15.y line of kernel was confirmed to work and support hifiberry.

3.12.y was configured accordingly and later 3.12.20 was issued so even 3.12.y should support it.

only problem is "ugly" design of the modules in the chain which refused to configure DMA in case DMA support is not compiled as module.

you are making too much complicated
FACTS:
1) three users demanded that via git issue tracker
2) support was added into all kernels
3) ONE user responded it is not working
- problem was fixed and he confirmed "it is working now"

nobody else ever returned to the other two issues "we would like to have support"
so until anybody tells differently:

Yes, I can confirm - it works, its supported by ALSA drivers.
But it doesn't work for XBMC.
AFAIK only some OpenElec experimental builds can utilize ALSA drivers.

Wow! - That is great news.

Can't wait to see how this works.... What is the process to set it up and running with XBMC under Xbian please?
Is it just a tick box in the XBMC menu or is there more to it?

For me it was: apt-get update; apt-get upgrade; apt-get install xbmc-alsa-package.
After that you have option to select ALSA in the XBMC menu.
Take look at an "official RC3 thread" http://forum.xbian.org/thread-2451-page-4.html

After looking into it more I found another DAC that I have ordered to try, and have another in mind to try in the future if it doesn't perform......

Hey,

i tried to install xbmc-alsa-package with "apt-get install xbmc-alsa-package", but i get this Error.

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package xbmc-alsa-package


What can i do now? i`m working since days to get my hifiberry work with xbian.
