Be my guest or at least advise how it can be done.

I prefer Beer to Whine :-)

Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - starous - 1st May, 2014 02:53 AM

Will there be an image of this release?

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - IriDium - 1st May, 2014 03:01 AM

@starous

Hopefully in the future, but at the moment there are resource issues preventing it.

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - Davem - 1st May, 2014 04:22 AM

Thanks, the update worked without any problems (from beta 2 RC1).

Code:
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - wi.tom - 1st May, 2014 08:03 AM

I have now switched the Topic due to this is (still) a problem in RC2.
Original Post of the problem: Official XBian 1.0 RC 1 thread - Post: #169

I have now downgraded the package "xbian-package-initramfs-tools" to version 1.3.3-4b by using the command:
Terminal
sudo apt-get install --reinstall xbian-package-initramfs-tools=1.3.3-4b

And here are the results:
cmdline.txt: (no change) pastebin link
config.txt: (no change) pastebin link
dmesg output: pastebin link
/var/log/messages (no change) output: pastebin link
xbmc.log: pastebin link
vmstat 5 20 output: pastebin link
top output: pastebin link

I'm not sure how I can find the difference between "old" and "new" xbian-package-initramfs-tools which influences the boot duration in NFS environment.

Any help would be grateful!

Regards,
tom

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - haweK - 2nd May, 2014 11:51 PM

Hello,
I have a problem when using xbian-conf via ssh. Logging in as xbian
doing config->packages->admin->btrfs-tools

results in this:
Terminal
/usr/local/include/xbian-config/modules/packages/functions: line 66: 3153
3153*1024: syntax error in expression (error token is "3153*1024")
this happens with any another selection of config->packages, too.
Thinking it was RC2, because last update was done.

Any idea if you will push a new branch of sickbeard-tpb now when the old one isn't supported anymore (removed by the author). Maybe change to https://github.com/junalmeida/Sick-Beard branch?

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - NitSuA - 3rd May, 2014 11:12 PM

Can RC2 already go to the stable branch? I would prefer staying in the stable branche namely..

[Edit] Nevermind! I see in Putty that I'm already on the RC2 Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

+1 this would be much appreciated

I would kindly suggest an alternative branch, which is echel0n's SickBeard-TVRage - github | forum

In case xbian devs aren't aware of it, let me suggest that it would be a better option as:
  • the codebase is directly taken from mr-orange's fork
  • it has a lot more traffic (junalmeida's was last updated 2 months ago)
  • over at Sickbeard's forum the dev immediately responded to concerns of sb-tpb's removal with assistance and pointed out his own fork

These questions should be posted here: http://forum.xbian.org/thread-1018.html

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - zilexa - 5th May, 2014 06:35 AM

What's new in RC 2? Are there any release notes available? Installation instructions? or do we still have to install Beta2 image first and upgrade?

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - CurlyMo - 5th May, 2014 06:50 AM

Yes, documentation is not @mk01 biggest talent Smile

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 thread - Skywatch - 5th May, 2014 10:57 PM

There's a RC2??? ;-)

Well I did apt-get upgrade and got the following message......

armhf.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload/_hashlib.so', which is also in package python2.7 2.7.3-6
dpkg-deb: error: subprocess paste was killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/python2.7-minimal_2.7.3-6+deb7u2_armhf.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

And that's where it halted.

Anyone have bright ideas on this?
