The video stutter/audio lag doesn't occur right after going from pause to resume but several minutes later. however it's not a huge bug as it only happens one time and only for approx. 2-4 seconds. That's just the behavior for my setup. It may be different for someone else RPi 1 Model B & RPi 2 |

Hi, I have a problem with accented letters.
If in XBMC i try to copy/move a file with accented letters, the operation fails. No problem with other file. For complete information I have an USB2 hard disk with ext3. I tried ssh too and when I type 'ls' appears '??' instead of an accented letter. Can You help me? Thanks |

Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread
Guys, my xbian 2 Beta is in big s***
When ever I try to play any video my TV screen blinks, then turns black with an error message that the resolution is not supported. At first I thought that it is a problem of my TV (Samsung LE40C630), but then I tried my older xbian (xbian 1.1 beta on a different SD) and there the videos worked. Did any of you experience the same problem, or I'm the only one? Where should I look for an error? |

RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread
Hello xbian,
thank you for this great release! This realy rocks! However i have one issue: When i start my pi without a LAN cable plugged in (which is my main scenario) the start sequence hangs at "starting xmbc...". The progres bar keeps moving for over a minute then the screen switches to black and shows "xbian login:". After waiting for another 20sec "starting xbmc..." appears again and after a few seconds xbmc is started and works without any problems. If a LAN cable is plugged in the start sequence works without any problems. My system is a clean installation of xbian.beta2.2013-11-16rs.img with win32diskimager. Can anybody confirm this issue? Or even has a solution/workaround? The issue seems to be related to these posts http://forum.xbian.org/thread-858-post-9944.html#pid9944 http://forum.xbian.org/thread-569-post-7014.html#pid7014 Regards, Sam ----------------------------- Additional info I did some testing and can reproduce the issue (at least on my system) with these steps: 1. clean installation of xbian.beta2.2013-11-16rs.img with win32diskimager 2. insert SD card in pi an watch the setup to its job 3. xbmc is started If you leave xbmc by powering off your pi it will start without any problems next time. 4. Power on your pi. Xbmc starts without any problems. 5. Exit xbmc by selecting "Power off System". Screen switches to black with "xbian login:". Power off your pi. 6. Power on your pi. Xbmc starts without any problems. 7. Now select "Power off System" again. But this time a progressbar appears and shows "shutting down..." and finally "system halted." 8. From this moment on the described issue appears Software XBian version: xbian.beta2.2013-11-16rs.img XBMC version: 12.2 Overclock settings: ?? Hardware Power supply rating: 1200mA RPi model (model A/B 256mb/512mb): B (512mb) SD card size and make/type: SanDisk, 8GB, class 10 Network (wireless or LAN): no Network. Have you changed your locale?
I think this has something to do with your ssh client. How are you "ssh"ing into your RPi. Please read before you post How to post a log file If you liked my help, click on "Thanks" to show your appreciation.

But I can't copy, move ecc files EDIT: 'set convert-meta off' cause strange effect in ssh client so i deleted it from /etc/inputrc If someone has a solution, please tell me. |

@sam397
Xbian really does need a network connection - especially for the time. By not having a system clock files will be written with a 1970 date which will confuse sort programs or thers which rely on timestamps. I have a feeling this "issue" is caused by ntp failing which triggers Xbmc to stop - or something like this. Can you go into xbian-config and set the service ntp to stop and not restart. Reboot and see if that improves things. Alao can you post the output from dmesg. OK I think I can replicate the error. I can create a file called "hello" which contains "Proprietà" and it shows up correctly, however if I try to change that filename to Proprietà all I get is Propriet [with spaces instead of à] Looking at the locales, Italian is setup for XBMC but not Xbian. You could try generating the correct locale with Code: sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales It might work but I have a feeling it might not as I'm sure most European characters are included in the defaut locale. No space left on device
Some strange things that started happening to me after a reboot last night (last updated on November 21 and 22, see detailed list at the end of this post).
There should be plenty of space left, df -h output: Code: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on Google pointed me at this it being an inode issue, but df -i shows nothing to that effect: Code: Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on XBMC also will not start any longer and gets stuck at "configuring network" and eventually crashes (it did start once after the first reboot, but crashed after a few seconds; after a power-cycle, as I could neither reboot or start xbmc from the shell, because sudo wouldn't work) Any advice? I have a backup of ~/.xbmc that should be recent enough, but I'd like to keep my various settings I made throughout the system (BTSync, all the progams in the downloads package, my DynDNS service, etc.) and unfortunately haven't gotten around to making a system-backup yet. Most recent updates: Code: 2013-11-21 04:10:57 startup archives unpack |

I don't think it is a good idea to release a modded Amber skin because you have to update it everytime the Amber skin is updated. @zilexa @belese is looking for a solution how to do that. On XBian add-on repo, both versions are available. modded and upstream. upstream (original) is also faster now as the last modded version from @Fred is version 0.4.x (I suppose) and since then Amber was much more optimized (current version is 1.2.5 or something). (22nd Nov, 2013 03:03 AM)CurlyMo Wrote: What dazzles me is that since we have the devel, staging, and stable repo's, the stable repo still contains packages that are buggy. Shouldn't those be in devel or staging? @CurlyMo can you please list the packages? what was confirmed in b2 test thread was considered stable and moved to new repository - if you provide list of bugged packages I can compare if all was moved with the correct version. of course let's exclude packages with NEW bugs found after release. changes to packages AFTER testing period were limited to control file(s) to help with the dependencies problems during upgrades from Alpha5 release and xbian-update change (noatime rootfs remount fstab record), which unfortunately caused the "smb mounts removal" bug from the past to reappear. other changes / fixes / new functions implemented in packages after B2 test are all placed in devel repo. if there are other bugs please report (best) at github.
