If apt says you're up to date then you should be already running rc3.

I beg to differ thus have a look at my screenshot.

It's maybe due that your source.list point to brantje repo,
and some apt error aren't check,
so apt-get update fail, and xbian-config have no new package.

try this, and retry :
http://www.xbian.org/faq/
the part : (] The APT repository at xbian.brantje.com seems to be unreachable)

otherwise you can check log in /tmp/aptstatus ((from head)
xbian@xbian /etc/apt $ cat sources.list
deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ wheezy main contrib non-free rpi
deb http://apt.xbian.org stable main
#deb http://xbian.brantje.com stable main
#deb-src http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ wheezy main contrib non-free rpi
xbian@xbian /etc/apt $

I have option to update via apt-get upgrade but not XBian config
Can you try that command (in root)?

xbian-config updates updatedb
and after
xbian-config updates list packages

more info here :

Why is my /boot show no files in RC3 via SSH? wanted to edit config.txt using nano. If its no longer mounted, which /dev/x do I need to mount?
I was about to ask the very same question!

One of my RC3 Xbian pi's has got files in /boot, but the other has nothing (yet it still reboots)!

So how to add the config_hdmi_boost setting to the one with no files in /boot Huh

.....and that's it! ....But it still sees the network SMB mount and works.... ??? .....there is obviously something I am not 'getting'.

all videos or just one particular, cos here is all working fine, no problems at all. usually no video just sound means that you do not have a codec for the specific format, so means no licence for example MPEG2 or VC-1
