Hi @IriDium,

Good idea to open a new post for this topic.

Maybe you can enter for the startpost as well an explanation how to configure xbian to access the stable XBMC 13 branch? Do we need to edit the repo files / url's, if yes, how?

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 Gotham (XBMC 13) thread - josch - 13th May, 2014 08:21 PM

If you are already running on RC2, all you have to do is installing the gotham package to finally have a RC2 gotham (stable) setup.

Terminal
sudo apt-get install xbian-package-xbmc-gotham-nightly

This package delivers a stable build of XBMC 13.

From fresh Beta2 install, you should update your Xbian at first.

Hi @josch, thnx for your reply.

But my only question is though, will it auto update from that point?
I thought there was a file on XBIAN with a list of repo's, don't you have to add the Gotham repo to that list then?

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 Gotham (XBMC 13) thread - belese - 14th May, 2014 12:07 AM

Yes, once you have installed gotham, it will update like other package,
either you choose manual update via xbian-config or via apt-get or you enable auto-update in xbian-config.

If you want to stay on stable release, you don't need to modify source list.

Anyone experiencing any issues with SMB?

Normally I can connect via windoze and Mac via smb to pickup the backup-home file. But since Gotham, I have been unable to connect.

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 Gotham (XBMC 13) thread - IriDium - 15th May, 2014 03:00 AM

My setup is HDMI Rpi -> AVR -> TV

When first powered on, there is no audio output.

With Frodo - I had to un-set in CEC input devices "Make XBMC the actice source when starting" and it worked fine.

However in Gotham - this makes no difference. To get audio, I have to turn HDMI on the AVR to off to get audio. I then turn it back on and all works fine. Volume, turning AVR off on shutdown all works fine.

However, on reboot, I have to go through it all over again.

Any ideas? Do I need to set the HDMI port to something other than 0?

Anyone noticed issues with Airplay? Since I updated to Gotham, Airplay doesn't work. I tried to deactivate it and activate it again but it says "AirTunes - Error trying to initiate"

Thanks in advance!

@jiserra
I just tried with iMediashare (Android) and it failed with buffering issues.

Can you post the xbmc.log as defined in "Please read before you post"

RE: Official XBian 1.0 RC 2 Gotham (XBMC 13) thread - Groormat - 16th May, 2014 10:20 PM

Installed Gotham with xbian-package-gotham-nightly. Removed ~/.xbmc before.
Works fine, except Movies with 1080p.

Every movie under 1080p is playing. On 1080p i only got the sound. The movie will start, but don't hide the menu. If i manage to exit the menu, i will just see the music-playback-interface like this one:

(But without any movement on the bars).

XBMC also recognize 3D-movies with 1080p. But will still show the music-interface.

Any suggestions?

Just wondering, why did you do that?

To be sure that there are no messed up settings. Wrong idea?

Might be, but I don't know enough on this subject.

I just used a backup .xbmc from frodo. 1080p is working again. What the heck?

Should removing the config not result in a clean, new and 100% working installation of xbmc?

Not necessarily - ~.xbmc contains all user settings, including your library, so it would have been reset to the default. You may have to change some settings like the DTS, AC3 passthrough, CEC commands and the like.

If you still have problems - please be a bit more specific and include the output of dmesg and xbmc.log via pastebin.

--------------------------- NEW THREAD --------------------------------
Terminal
sudo service xbmc restart
only stops xbmc it does not restart it again.

I'm sure we had this issue a while ago with Beta 2.

Can someone else confirm this!
