I can't use properly the .img file as the .gz seems to be dammaged (can't open it with WinRAR)

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - Skywatch - 1st Sep, 2014 07:21 PM

I tried from RC2 -> RC3 but still hit the 'serious error' message documented in the RC2 thread, so I guess that this is not fixed in Raspbian yet.

Skywatch.

Yes, when it is, we will release stable 1. It's the only thing holding us back.

Is there any way to get this problem to raspbian's attention?

How?

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - Roxxor - 2nd Sep, 2014 01:00 AM

The upgrade via apt-get broke my install. After a reboot only one dot apears on the top left. Nothing happens.
Also just tried the provided image. Nothing happens when switching on. Only Power LED activated.
To exclude Hardware errors I tried RC2, which boots flawless.

I'm a little confused, is doing a dist-upgrade not advisable? I did a standard upgrade fine, it rebooted without issue, however now when I attempt a dist-upgrade I see...

Terminal
xbian@xbian ~ $ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
[sudo] password for xbian:

The following packages have been kept back:

I have a feeling maybe I got myself into a package depends screw up with having that Gotham test installed. :(

I did a fresh install and it boots but my LAN isn't working in DHCP and also not when I set it to static. It remains down.

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - Skywatch - 2nd Sep, 2014 04:17 AM

Never do a dist-upgrade!

Best to upgrade from 'sudo xbian-config' and following the menu.

Skywatch.

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - ubersteiny - 2nd Sep, 2014 09:53 AM

I apt-upgraded fine to RC3. However the menus appear to be very buggy. I try to click on a menu option and the main bar fades away and nothing happens for a bit then text from the filter side menu pops up and flickers.

Everything on the back end is working fine, I can ssh and communicate no problem.

Forgot to add. Movie playback only gives a black screen with audio. Also, sometimes menu text becomes just blocks.

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - wifi86 - 2nd Sep, 2014 05:18 PM

Hi there,

Yesterdayt got update through the console interface and everything seemed normal, except for the fact that xbmc restarts himself every two minutes or so without reason, I just get another packaged updated today but xbmc continues to be so annoying, do you guys know anything about that is there a solution or a patch coming up?

Thank you very much and keep going!

RE: XBian Release Candidate 3 - Xenon - 2nd Sep, 2014 07:16 PM

Hi Roxxor,

solution has been provided here: http://forum.xbian.org/thread-2411.html
just comment initramfs value from /boot/config.txt.

Cheers,
Xenon
