xbian-package-zram-swap.

Unsure why xbian-update has been kept back!! That might be the issue.

the only package that has been kept back when I updated today was xbian-package-cec. Every other package including xbian-package-xbmc and xbian-update was updated successfully Smile
I feel kind of sorry if it broke your whole setup, @Smultie Sad

Let's wait for the sheriff before we jump to conclusions, and get the dang hanging rope out - there are multiple ways to break a camels back - Isn't English cruel (room to swing a cat, badgered to death, stone the crows, flogging a dead horse ......)

I upgraded a test image at around 14:00 GMT and it didn't cause any problems. The jury - or posse - is out.

Back on Beta 2 with all updates.
Try to get USB-install up again, gets stuck everytime at 1 minute in:

I know this cause I keep a second SSH open with 'top' running. After appr 1 minute the system completely hangs, uptime no longer keeps growing, etc.

XBMC was started or not? (I'm asking because if XBMC is not running, RPI will be asked to restart if needed (actually reboot we be scheduled to 1min after apt/dpkg processes finish). otherwise not. This looks to me like boot freeze)

(and also Splash is "jumping" to 10-15% on one place only - otherwise it is always infinitebar. that place is initramfs phase. unfortunately you reformatted, right? so no logs.)

@all

freeze on cloning function is again as last time kernel issue. I'm currently patching & testing new version.

Yeah, I was in XBMC.

It was indeed stuck at 10-15%. I had to reformat cause I had no way of accessing the device in any way (within my very limited knowledge).

RE: Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread
as I posted to another thread, always just check the FAT on windows or linux. rootfs is most of the time intact, only you get black screen - no kernel loaded, nothing. (red led) - but this is related exactly to /boot partition which is easy to restore.

So next time I encounter the same situation, there's still hope left? Cool, will try that next time! Hopefully I can help trace the problem then!

Official XBian 1.0 Beta 2 thread
Since a few days my raspberry freezes reproducable. When im starting backup from the console in xbian-config or via xbian itself after some seconds my pi stops completely.

-audio playing stops
-No more shell access
-gui doesn't respond (remote)

Anybody encountered the same problem?

Running on public beta2 with all updates - tried also on a fresh install with formated sdcard (because of corrupted filesystem)

Could be something with io - yesterday same issue when copying numer of images from nas to local...

Any ideas?

@sir106

yes, looks like we have regression in kernel code again. it was at least once there. yesterday I was merging two months of commits from stable btrfs which are still not in official tree. so far so good but from the last four kernel minor releases I still have bad taste in my mouth.
