(19th Sep, 2013 08:23 PM)Airwolfuk Wrote: [ -> ]5. If i tried to quite it automatically tried to connect to the next AP in the list

I had something like that but I thought it was fixed. When Xbian-config went to the next item in the list (as you say), I went into ssh xbian-config and saw that my pass key was "some / thing / like / this" with a "slash" where there was a space. Entering the correct pass key it connected straight away.

ssh xbian-config -> Network.

After selecting wlan -> dhcp -> Scan. Selecting the network the buttons (Change & Cancel) are greyed out and can't be selected so you can only enter <return> to exit.

thanks Iri

When i ssh xbian config, my key is setup correctly. my key is simply numbers and capital letters, no spaces or any other characters.

For now i will simply use ssh xbian config to setup my system and look at Xbian Config (XBMC) from time to time to see if it has changed/ fixed for my setup

My WIFI dongle is a NetGear WNA1000M (Realtek RTL8188CUS) so nothing special/ strange here.

Strange how no one else is reporting this behavior?

Whooo my bad, sorry !
I've also discovered a lot of new features, thanks !

Should this setting enabled by default ?

Personally no, but alas it is set as default.
All: so far everything looks ready for release:

These are my commits:

Known Beta 1.2 issues:
Priority 1.
1) xbian-copy pop up – I believe nothing can be done about this at the moment.
FIXED 2) xbian-config – not updating heldback packages.
FIXED 3) Xbian-bridge respawning.
FIXED 4) Upgrade resetting cmdline.txt to mmcblk0p1 even if it was sda1
FIXED 5) Volume control not working.
6) Adding bookmark in Videos reboots Xbian.
7) USB DVD drive (Unable to test as no H/W)

Priority 2.
FIXED 1) xbian-config ssh and xbmc – Backup home to img file.
FIXED 2) Repeating CEC message: CecLogMessage - unhandled response received: opcode=0 initiator=1 destination=0 response=0
3) Profile selecting on load causes crash or XBMC not to start

Priority 3.
FIXED 1) xbian-config – network wlan change/cancel not selectable
FIXED 2) Set “Turn CEC capable TV off with screensaver” as OFF for default
FIXED 3) XBMC xbian-config -> Interval days pop-up
FIXED 4) Only 15 characters allowed in xbian-config backup to img
IGNORE 5) Clear block in XBMC xbian-config when exiting.
6) ssh xbian system copy tool: Output is incorrect - no OK box, <select> and <cancel> not selectable.

Priority 4
FIXED 1) Remove debug checks where needed.
FIXED 2) Superrepo not working
FIXED 3) Xbian loading logo appears first time screen saver activated. Splash is not exitting. Killing splash removes display.
IGNORE 4) Amber for Xbian not loading
IGNORE 5) Xbian repo - not working

Please feel free to add any issues or concerns. If nothing is heard, then it will be assumed that everyone is happy. (Considering the lack of comments from the "Management!!!!")

@mk01. When you are happy, can we release a "Test" IMG file on the website - named Beta 1.2 Testing only.

@mk01: Can we start a new thread Beta 1.2 final - which should be ONLY for the latest fully upgraded systems.
Don't know what changed, but lastest SAMBA Package does not work on Mac OS X. Previous one was working fine.

I see that structure changed :
- system-logs
- xbian
- xbian-xbmc
- xbian-backup

but each one can't be opened, we've got an error saying the path does not exists.
Updated again from Beta 2 to Beta 2.

1) xbian-config dialog headers (gray) are not aligned with the rows in every location (e.g. XBMC gui resolution, System locale).
2) xbian-config dialog text isn't centered in all places (e.g. XBMC webserver, SSH root login).
3) when opening boot settings i get a error in
/usr/local/include/xbian-config/module/bootflags/dialogs: line 25: [: tty1 ...
4) when opening hostname dialog i get the error:
/usr/local/include/xbian-config/module/hostname/functions: line 26: [: =pi: ...
5) Timezone locations header is bad: #,Location [ ]
6) Also not sure why the dialogs need to be this huge
7) Xbian config setting test is wierd.

All these issues are new as in they weren't there in XBian Alpha 5.

I will continue testing.

Good things
1) pilight works well on XBian Wink
Just small other infos about my Samba problem :
The xbian item, automatically displayed in Finder does not work. But I can mount the samba share manually, but anonymous logging does not work, I really need to enter xbian credentials in order to access samba.
Also, one major issue for me. Where did the lirc_rp1 module go?

please update the kernel package. by mistake wasn't compiled in.
Thanks Smile
(19th Sep, 2013 04:12 AM)Airwolfuk Wrote: [ -> ]As usual, tries to connect and comes back to the access point scanned list. However, now if I restart xbian-Config my wifi settings show up and I can get out on the net.

Very strange but hopefully helps narrow it down.

I was thinking about the "performance" issue when offering kernel rebundle. of course for this issue this makes no sense.

can you turn debug log in xbmc on, start xbmc, try the wifi stuff. exit xbmc and post xbmc.log to pastebin or so ?

ok, this is small buffer. Event doesn't fit to it. Already fixed.

yes
(19th Sep, 2013 08:23 PM)Airwolfuk Wrote: [ -> ]6. If i removed the power and rebooted before it went too far, Xbian came back and my original AP was setup and working!

can you please test

xbian-package-config-shell 2.1.6-15 ?
Sure but I will be unable to do so for a few hours/ probably tomorrow

- what is 5 ?
- TV off - we can make "no" to default, but not anymore for already running installations. as I'm not rewriting config files anymore (on package upgrade currently existing local values/settings are preserved)
- SuperRepo - what does it mean for you "not working" ? I just flashed IMG 1.1 from web, was working. updated to B2, still working. SuperRepo as available is repository, which is installing other repositories. Only after installing sub-repository you will see addons to install.
- splash - on "loading..." behind xbmc - can you please send output of
Code:
dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} \t ${Version}\n' xbian-package*
- "xbian-config ssh – Backup home to img file" - what is not working there?

others should be fine - but check if held packages are listed by xbian-config. if not, you have still the old xbian-package-config-shell. do apt-get install xbian-package-config-shell manually - since that point no packages should be missed in the lists to upgrade/update in xbian-config-shell/xbmc.

Looks like I broke my system (user error not upgrade process )so will have to do a clean install but no time until Monday
