No, it's not for me, just a change from previous behavior, maybe some people will be confused...
BTW, I can't access usb HDD anymore via SAMBA, it's not listed. Setting "Make automounted disks available via SMB" is enabled, and when I try to change that setting, I've got an error saying "USB charing - Error on updating".

Seems only to occur sporadically - usually after a restart of XBMC. Difficult to deduce - and only seen on the TV not monitor. Will monitor after the latest updates.

I'm only 3 days behind (so it may have been fixed), but selecting it pops up the message but no img file is produced, CPU is normal, and gzip is not running.

- ok, reapplied guest ok = yes and force user = xbian - like previous package (samba 2.0.0-3)
- indeed you are right, fixed the update error (xbian-package-config-shell 2.1.6-16)
- please check if /etc/usbmount/usbmount.conf has SHARESMB=yes . what is actual mountpoint for the USB HDD ?
(22nd Sep, 2013 04:35 AM)IriDium Wrote: [ -> ]2) Superrepo not working
I go into Settings -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons -> Superrepo repositories list -> Add-on repository
There I get list of cca 20-25 other sub-Repositories available to install.

Yes, I've got SHARESMB=YES and LINKDIR="/media".
My mount point is "/media/NAS" ans is correctly mounted at startup

reboot and post the created file to pastebin ?
Code:

to
Code:
set -e; set -x

reboot and post the created file to pastebin ?

Done ! Here is the log:
Code:
/dev/sda:

/dev/sda:

I guess SAMBA is not taking into account the USBMOUNT setting.
Should /etc/usbmount/mount.d/ contains a script to share usb drive ?
According to this page :http://www.davidc.net/automatically-exporting-usb-drives-over-samba
there should be a script here, but maybe it's done in another way.

Here's another issue with Beta 2 : international characters (like French é / è à) are not positioned in correct order in lists.

I had the usb mount not sharing to samba problem, too, but it is now fixed with the last update (around sept 20). The samba password for xbian is still raspberry, though, even though I changed the password for xbian user in the terminal using passwd?
Also, as of now, lirc is not starting itself. "Service lirc start" returns "start: Job failed to start". I can start it manually by running lircd (as root). If I then run service lirc stop, it says "lirc stop/waiting", but it does not actually stop lircd.
So running lircd myself is not that hard, but with the last update, if I have RC-6 protocol enabled (in /sys/class/rc/rc0/protocols) and lircd running, it will crash xbmc. I can either not run lircd, or change the protocol to LIRC only. If I do LIRC only, then the keys work better in xbmc! I have a mceusb usb ir receiver which isn't working great, but it will do until I buy a receiver diode for the GPIO. Well, it isn't receiving codes very well I guess because of the usb problems with the pi, but it sends ir signals fine -- and I need lirc to send the signals. Mostly for my damn LG TV which has poor CEC implementation.

I did a fresh install/ upgrade this morning and see i have 2.1.6-17
When i go to Xbian Config i cannot change any of the options in the Preferences area.
All the other screens are OK
ssh xbian-config also has problems. When I connect to AP I get a failed error message but it is actually connected.
